Goals and objectives of the project:

Overall goals: 
-    To assist in expanding the application of the environmental approach in the development of renewable energy sources.
 

Special purposes:
-    To assess the application of the environmental approach in the development of renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan;
-    To accelerate the process of diversification of energy sources.
-    To assist in the rationalization of the impact of the diversification process on the environment and the social situation.
-    To increase the level of understanding of the country's energy security and energy efficiency policy.
-    Contribute to raising awareness of environmental issues.

Project results:

Expected results are:
-    The application of environmental approach in the development of renewable energy sources will be strengthened and public participation in this process will increase.
-    Government policy on the development of renewable energy sources, practical measures, plans and prospects, environmental problems, trends that positively or negatively affect the consideration of environmental and social impacts, the current situation in the application of environmental approaches in the use of renewable energy sources, issues of public participation in these processes, etc. such issues will become the subject of public discussion.
-    There will be a clear public perception of the state of application of the environmental approach in the development of renewable energy sources.
-    Public support will be provided to accelerate the process of diversification of energy sources.
-    Assistance will be provided to rationalize the impact of the diversification process on the environment and the social situation.
-    Public opinion on the use of renewable energy sources, problems and prospects in this area will be communicated to decision makers.
-    The public will better understand the country's energy security and energy efficiency policy.
-    Transparency in this area will increase.
-    Awareness of people about renewable energy sources, the country's potential in this area, emerging and potential environmental problems will increase.
-    Society's demand from the government to strengthen the application of an environmental approach to the development of renewable energy sources and increase public participation in this process will increase.
